Are you a fan of YG Entertainment? If yes, then this idol survival show is a must watch for you! "Mix Nine" is YG Entertainment's upcoming survival program which will air on JTBC. The title is very similar to YG's 2014 survival show, Mix & Match, which documented the creation of iKon. The reality competition program will feature YG Entertainment's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, who will visits directors across the country to discover new stars. The trainees appearing in the program are fiercely confronted regardless of gender. They consist of 9 men and 9 women, and aim to make Boy Group and Girl Group debut. It will be produced by Han Dong Chul, who previously worked on popular shows like "Produce 101" and "Show Me the Money". There are also YG Entertainment's singers and producers who will participate in the program as well. "Mix Nine" will be hosted by Noh Hong Cheol, a broadcaster, along with Yang Hyun Suk. More than 400 idols and trainees from over 70 companies have confirmed their appearances. KNK and LOONA who already make their debut are also confirmed to participate in new YG audition program. The survival program is about to launch its first broadcast at 4:50 PM KST on Sunday, October 29. The show will be in competition with JYP Entertainment's survival show to find their next boy band, as well as the KBS survival show for 'failed idols', The Unit.
3. KBS' The Unit
This survival show would probably be the 2nd largest idol-group show ever conducted this year, following Produce 101 Season 2's success. The concept of the show is very interesting compared to the audition-survival shows produced. It'll be a show giving a chance to already debuted idols who haven't reached the peak of their respective careers. The sad truth is that they are dubbed as "failed idols." Over 126 participants that will compete to be in a "unit" of two, one unit for boys and one for girls, roaming around rookies, former members of groups, actors/actresses and idol groups who debuted but didn't taste the success, KBS is giving them the second chance.
With its crazy lineup, the set of judges are also one to watch out, first in the list is Rain (I mean, who doesn't know Rain????), the main MC of the show and the head mentor for the contestants. Other mentors confirmed to be mentoring the contestants are former 4minute member, Hyuna, Taemin, balladeer Hwang Chi Yeol and many more.
The show is set to air in KBS on October 28, 2017. So don't miss out and support these idols on the show and even after the show has ended!!!
